I bought an 100w 600x900 machine back in July. It works great and your articles have helped me learn why a few things are happening. Looking forward to reading you again. As I work my way across different materials, your next subject will be of great interest to me.

Re: Installing a 13 Foot Floating Sign at Instagram

Thanks!

Re: Installing a 13 Foot Floating Sign at Instagram

Amazing work as always!

Re: Making the Bark Back

Hi John,

Unfortunately, we don't have plans to produce a Bark Back for the iPhone 6.

Re: Making the Bark Back

Obligatory post asking the ETA for iPhone 6 backs. I understand the laser needs some buffer to slow down / switch direction in the X-axis when etching quickly...I just wish the machine was designed with that in mind so it truly was 36 x 24 of real usable area.

Re: So you bought a CO2 laser cutter, now what? From you mention of the weather, I assume that there is no finish or paint on it, which makes sense, but road spray and UV damage might be worth thinking about. Plus a chance to put a big company logo on each side :) I'd also love to see more close up photos of the tow bar and bike rack connection, it looks interesting.

Re: So you bought a CO2 laser cutter, now what? Ours leaves a bit of a texture, which I always attributed to the 60hz of A/C power....or possible the little steps of the servo motor's small speed changes. It's pretty mild in our case, and I usually etch at 300mm/second and 50-60% of power (90W machine). I also use somewhere between .06 and .11 scan gap, which is the distance the laser moves vertically before etching another line. .11 gets the job done faster, but I find .06 is best for fine details. The smaller scan gaps tend to leave a smoother finish after etching. I hope that's helpful!

Re: So you bought a CO2 laser cutter, now what?
